Karen Vandeburgt feels honoured to support individuals, young and old, and couples on their journey to healing and wholeness. She desires to create a hopeful, safe space where people can share their story in order to find their voice. Karen understands people from a psychodynamic orientation, focusing on developing an empathic, and collaborative relationship with her clients while maintaining attachment and trauma-informed perspectives. She has experience working with people learning to cope with anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD, and trauma.
Formerly an elementary and high school teacher, Karen brings her experience as a wife, mother, and educator into her counselling work. She is currently a student in the Masters of Arts Counselling Psychology program at Trinity Western University, having just finished her first year of study. She has also completed training in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy and Level One of Gottman Method Couples Counselling.
