Karen Vandeburgt feels honoured to support individuals, young and old, and couples on their journey to healing and wholeness. She desires to create a hopeful, safe space where people can share their story in order to find their voice. Karen understands people from a psychodynamic orientation, focusing on developing an empathic, and collaborative relationship with her clients while maintaining attachment and trauma-informed perspectives. She has experience working with people learning to cope with anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD, and trauma.
Formerly an elementary and high school teacher, Karen brings her experience as a wife, mother, and educator into her counselling work. She has also completed training in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy and Level One of Gottman Method Couples Counselling.
