Karen Vandeburgt is honoured to support individuals and couples on their journey to healing and wholeness. She desires to create a hopeful, safe space where people can share their story to deepen their awareness of themselves, enabling them to live more fully and joyfully in the world.
Karen understands people from biopsychosocial and spiritual perspectives, focusing on developing a compassionate and collaborative relationship with her clients while maintaining an attachment and trauma-informed presence. She has experience working with people learning to cope with anxiety, depression, body image, grief, PTSD, CPTSD, and trauma.
Formerly an elementary and high school teacher, Karen brings her life experience as a wife, mother, and educator into her counselling work. She has completed training in Internal Family Systems, Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, AEDP, and Gottman Method Couples Counselling, as well as advanced training in EMDR, and is a Prepare-Enrich facilitator.
