Karen Vandeburgt is honoured to support individuals and couples on their journey to healing and wholeness. She desires to create a hopeful, safe space where people can share their story in order to deepen their awareness of themselves and their voice.
Karen understands people from psychodynamic and internal family systems perspectives, focusing on developing an empathic, and collaborative relationship with her clients while maintaining attachment and trauma-informed perspectives. She has experience working with people learning to cope with anxiety, depression, body image, grief, PTSD, and trauma.
Formerly an elementary and high school teacher, Karen brings her experience as a wife, mother, and educator into her counselling work. She has completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems, Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, as well as Gottman Method Couples Counselling, and is a Prepare-Enrich facilitator.
